Good unnecessarily aggressive question, hypothetical person! Basically, do you remember that "Give me one of your characters and I'll match them with one of mine" Plurk meme?

"I'm a strawman you invented for this post why would I-"

ANYWAY, this post is like that, because I love that meme a lot and have way too many characters by far. So here is how this is gonna work, basically!

1. You leave a comment with a character journal you want matched up!

It's important that in this comment you include if you want f/f, f/m, m/m (I have like two or three workable dude muses as a warning right upfront), or are open to whatever, as well as what kinds of characters you think might ship well with yours, and like... a quick summary of their personality for me! Also specify if you're here for smut or not or if you want assumed cr or a particular relationship stage or... whatever other information you want to put in. Age range, certain characters/canons you definitely don't want, whatever! I wanna stretch out some of my lesser-used journals here, though, so no specific character requests!

2. I will reply with an offer!

You are obviously free to veto or respond or whatever, but I'll run through my muselist (or inevitably for someone make a whole damn new account) and find someone and reply with an ooc hashing-things-out comment. If it works, reply with a starter or an affirmation if you want me to start!

and i got nothin' other than "winging it" and "murdergame setting, perhaps" so they can be like wow this sucks and maybe bond over being involved in Death Games entirely too many times

[ This place sucks. That's a given. It's too close to Well, You Know for Johanna's comfort, and the differences... yeah, she honestly likes those even less. At least in the Hunger Games you can count on not being able to count on people. Nobody's trying to hide things, not really. Which is a hell of a thought, you know, for her.

Luckily, though, she can hide things with the best of them. Which has sort of led to this general public reputation as a like. Violent chaos gremlin? Which is an easy role to play, most of the time.

Another benefit of the Games ahead of this, though, is that they don't last long enough for you to have been here a month and gotten to know people. Or, you know, Catch Feelings for one of them. Wow! Oops!

But as with anything, Johanna Mason is smarter than she seems about this. So she catches Mira in the arcade one night and sort of. Clears her throat. ]

Hey. Come with me for a sec?

[ She said as if they hadn't already edged dangerously close to a heart to heart without incident at least once. ]

[ This place definitely sucks. It's one thing to be a pawn in someone's game, but at least back in her world, she'd had some semblance of freedom. Here, it's every week they have to find someone dead. Have a trial. Find a new area that's open. Rinse and repeat.

She doesn't want to admit she's settled into a routine but, well. After a month of this nonsense, it's kind of hard to not settle into it. She's trying to keep her mind off of everything, but often her mind wanders and she finds herself nearly on the verge of tears or panic thinking about finding someone she cares about, you know. Dead.

... and speaking of. ]

Oh-- Johanna. [ Figures she'd know where to find her. ] Of course. Lead the way?

[ She says it without hesitation. Maybe she should be more cautious, because it's everyone for themselves, but despite herself, she finds herself trusting Johanna. Of course, it runs far deeper than just friendship--at least for Mira.

She just isn't sure if Johanna feels the same. She's too scared to even approach the topic. It's just not worth the possible rejection, or ruining a friendship that's kept her afloat. ]

[ Johanna nods, eyes darting around the arcade by instinct to check for anyone else. Situational awareness saves lives, after all.

It's going to be a real treat if she ever stops feeling like she needs to do that.

Slinging the axe she keeps on her just... to dissuade people from trying anything over her shoulder, she turns towards the hallway, trusting Mira to follow. ]

Just wanna pop into my room and talk for a sec.

[ She hasn't had a roommate for a couple weeks now, after all. ]

[ The axe doesn't bother her. Maybe it should, but they've been alone together more times than Mira can count. She has a feeling that if Johanna wanted to do something, she would have by now.

So she falls into step next to Johanna. Her curiosity's definitely piqued. ]

Of course. It's nothing serious, I hope.

[ Maybe if it were anyone else she'd be teasing, but... Mira does sound pretty serious, even as the thought of being in Johanna's room makes her feel all jittery in a not entirely unpleasant way. ]

[ Johanna shrugs, which moves the axe a little, but... she hasn't exactly been shy since arrival about showing that she's really really good with the thing. It's not about to do anything she doesn't want it to. ]

Just don't want anyone listening in.

[ What a committal answer, Johanna, Well Done. At least she's... there's something smile-ish happening with her mouth. ]

[ Ah. That tiny hint of smile (which she notices, because she's not kidding herself here and say that she's not pretty attuned to Johanna) convinces her that it's not anything that'll break what they've got here.

Because even knowing full well that she's not about to get the same treatment as in her own world... well, she's had a few nightmares. It's fine. ]

Keeping secrets, Miss Mason?

[ Now she sounds like she's teasing, and while she tries to keep her expression serious, there's a tiny glimmer in her eye and her lips curl upward just slightly. ]

Me? Never.

[ In fairness, it takes a lot of interaction with Johanna Mason to realize that she would and does. ]

I just value my privacy.

That makes two of us.

[ She's only getting more and more curious, but Mira's patient. Besides, it's got to be something significant for Johanna to seek her out so late like this. ]

See? You get it.

[ And here they are at Johanna's room! She'll just... go ahead and unlock it to let Mira in. ]

After you.

Ah, thank you.

[ She steps inside, and she-- isn't sure what to do, here. Does she take a seat somewhere? Not on the bed, that's far too personal and familiar. On the floor? Probably not. She's overthinking things and she's very aware, but also--

She's nervous. So she ends up folding her hands behind her back, eyes on Johanna. Once the door's shut-- ]

So... what did you want to talk about?

[ It's interesting, as rooms go - more clean than one would expect, but also... there's no sign left of the previous occupant. All of her poor former roommate's stuff has been put... somewhere. Don't look in the closet. It's fine.

Johanna breathes out, setting the axe down next to the door in its customary spot. Her posture shifts a little, too, settling towards her natural state of "alert and good to go, but not actually a Gremlin type." ]

I... wanted to be honest about something. Since keeping secrets in a place like this is probably a shit idea.

[ Her first instinct is to think that it's... something bad. But she, surprisingly, pushes that back. Terrible as this place is, it's had some benefit. She's not so quick to assume the absolute worst when it comes to other people.

Mira tilts her head, arms crossed over her chest. ]

... Well, that's not entirely wrong. [ She tries to joke, because she's getting nervous all over again. ] And you can always be honest with me. So... what is it?

[ It occurs to Johanna now, as she has this girl she likes alone in her room at night, that she hasn't really done this sort of thing before? She's not unused to speaking around issues, she's spent long enough contending with the Capitol to know how to talk her way around basically anything, but...

That's not her style. So she exhales, and she dives right in. If her being direct scares Mira off, this probably isn't going to work out anyway. ]

So... this is a wild way to say this, but if you asked me to push you down onto my bed and kiss you right now I would.

[ Johanna Mason: Feelings Expert ]

[ Oh.

Oh, okay. For a moment, she just kind of. Blue screens? Yeah. But the implication doesn't escape her, honestly. She knows Johanna well enough, she thinks. But it's definitely unexpected, and she's definitely pretty red in the face. ]

You-- really? [ Excellent response. They're doing great. ] I mean-- [ She's got this. She can do this. ] Since we're here... you should. I want you to.

[ Oh. You know, that was not actually the response she expected from Mira, somehow. But hey, sometimes it's good to be called on something. And being stuck somewhere and asked to kill people, or be worried about other people doing murders? Anyone would get more than a little stressed.

They can talk about feelings or whatever when they're done with whatever happens next. For now, Johanna steps forward, smirking. ]

Careful you don't bang your head on the way down.

[ And, true to her word, she'll start by pushing Mira back onto her bed. ]

[ Maybe some of the others have rubbed off on her, here. Johanna especially. (Ha.) She's surprised at it, too, at her boldness--she's never quite had the guts to say anything like that. And while this is all kind of-- alright, very new, as in "she's never smashed before, because that's the vibe she's getting here," she's definitely not regretting it.

Her back hits the bed, and she does not in fact thwack her head on it. Nice. ]

So far, so good.

[ She grabs Johanna's hand, pulling her down to join her. ]

[ Good job, Mira! Given murdergame beds, that may or may not be a feat in itself.

Johanna can respect it, honestly. There's no time here to not go after things if you want them and can get them, you know? Or people you want. ]

I don't make offers I go back on.

[ And onto the bed Johanna goes, positioning herself to straddle Mira and lean in to make good on the other half of her offer-slash-threat, pressing their lips together. ]

[ She definitely can't see Johanna going back on her offer--it's one of the reasons Mira's so drawn to her. Trust is a touchy, difficult thing, but somehow, Johanna's won it.

She slides her arms around her neck, and she leans up slightly to meet her halfway. Maybe she's a little eager here, but-- listen. She has eyes. She's looked at Johanna with those eyes a lot. She can't be blamed for having thought about this before.

She's just kind of stunned it's actually happening, and she's more than a little out of her element here, but instinct's pretty powerful. As her lips move against Johanna's, she brushes her fingers along the back of her neck. ]

[ I mean. Valid, Mira.

Johanna relents for a moment to press another kiss to Mira's lips, since it's not exactly exciting to just keep their lips pressed together. One of her hands, tragically, is needed to support the position she's in, but the hand not currently supporting her weight on the mattress moves to toy with Mira's hair a little. ]

[ Johanna's struck gold, because Mira's learned just now that she really likes when someone plays with her hair. She's also pretty glad Johanna's taking the lead, but...

She's not gonna not try. Johanna might not be able to use both hands here, but Mira can. She slides one hand into her hair, and just to see how Johanna reacts, she drags her nails down her back. ]

[ Hey, Johanna's not going to say no to Mira reacting like that at all. She shifts when her nails drag to let them go wherever they need to, taking a sharp breath in before kissing Mira again, harder this time. ]

[ She's incredibly into the reaction--that she can have that effect on Johanna is pretty bolstering. Mira presses them in a little deeper, taking in a breath when Johanna does. And when she kisses her again, harder, Mira lets out a little gasp, lips parting under Johanna's. ]
