MATCHMAKER MATCHMAKER MAKE ME A MATCH

OPEN MATCHMAKING POST
"What the hell is this, Lyndon?"
Good unnecessarily aggressive question, hypothetical person! Basically, do you remember that "Give me one of your characters and I'll match them with one of mine" Plurk meme?
"I'm a strawman you invented for this post why would I-"
ANYWAY, this post is like that, because I love that meme a lot and have way too many characters by far. So here is how this is gonna work, basically!
1. You leave a comment with a character journal you want matched up!
It's important that in this comment you include if you want f/f, f/m, m/m (I have like two or three workable dude muses as a warning right upfront), or are open to whatever, as well as what kinds of characters you think might ship well with yours, and like... a quick summary of their personality for me! Also specify if you're here for smut or not or if you want assumed cr or a particular relationship stage or... whatever other information you want to put in. Age range, certain characters/canons you definitely don't want, whatever! I wanna stretch out some of my lesser-used journals here, though, so no specific character requests!
2. I will reply with an offer!
You are obviously free to veto or respond or whatever, but I'll run through my muselist (or inevitably for someone make a whole damn new account) and find someone and reply with an ooc hashing-things-out comment. If it works, reply with a starter or an affirmation if you want me to start!
3. WATCH THAT MAGIC HAPPEN or potentially watch this idea crash and burn
Anything's possible when you believe!!!

not exactly this but bonding over robots and then smooching

I like the idea of it being a slightly cliched thing of Angel waking up after everything is said and done and oh, hello there's this pretty lady here.
"I must be dead or dreaming, you can't be real."

would you like to start or should i let's make this happen

[ The process... hadn't been easy, and hadn't been cheap, but though the Hemsworths may sometimes err on the side of the... morally dubious, the opportunity to rescue a captured valuable resource from a competitor is definitely nothing to turn a nose up at no matter your moral code (And as the moral codes of Hemsworths go, Phoebe is up near the top.). Especially when that resource turns out to be... a very cute woman, um.
The Vault Hunters, bless them, had turned over a great deal of Eridium to wean Angel off the stuff, and now it was up to the machines she custom-made for the job (naturally) to bring her back from unconsciousness. And oh she hopes they do soon, she 's just dying to get to know this... Angel.
When Angel comes to, she'll find herself hooked into a much smaller Eridium release machine on a nice comfy bed, with Phoebe herself nearby looking over some files and readings on a floating screen. ]

[The last thing Angel wanted, both consciously and unconsciously, was to return to the land of the living. Even as realization dawned on her that she was alive, in some inexplicable way, she clung desperately to her dreams. Being alive meant that she had failed in her mission. For all she knew, she'd find Jack hovering over her, ready to administer some sort of painful punishment for her deceit.]
[The first sense to return to her was the sixth one, the one that gave her an instinctive knowledge of the technology and systems around her. It also was her first hint that something wasn't quite right. The networks that her mind brushed against weren't familiar to her, operating almost at a different frequency than the Hyperion machines she was used to.]
[Her eyes cracked open, trepidation lancing through both body and mind. She had been right -- none of this was familiar. She sat up -- keenly aware of her continued tether to the sickening purple substance that had laid her this low. Wide, and exceptionally blue eyes traveled over to the working woman. Angel knew she should have felt fear, but nothing about the blonde indicated that she was particularly malevolent.]
[Angel was, after all, situated in a comfortable bed and capable of moving around (mostly) freely.]
Err -- Hello? [She lifted a hand, waving it to get the woman's attention.]

You're awake! Thank god, I don't know how I would have explained to your friends if I invented machines to save your life and then went and lost you.
no subject
My friends? [Her brows drew even tighter together.] The Vault Hunters, you mean?
no subject
[ She sighs. ]
Ah, where are my manners... my name is Phoebe Elizabeth Audelia Hemsworth IV, head inventor for the Hemsworth Corporation, scion of the blah blah blah, and more importantly, interested party in your continued wellbeing. How are you feeling?
no subject
They wanted to save me?
[And this woman, a stranger, had helped them do it? That the Vault Hunters were concerned about her well-being wasn't entirely surprising -- they'd grown close over the course of their adventure (betrayal notwithstanding). But for a stranger to step in and lend her aid.]
Why you? [She'd said she was with a corporation? Was this all a matter of competition? Steal away Hyperion's best resource and put it to work for her own purposes?]
[Fearful didn't even begin to describe her expression. For the time being, Phoebe's question about her well-being went unanswered.]

[ She taps the machine Angel's hooked up to. ]
-to keep you alive long enough to wean you off that Eridium stuff. And as for why me, I'm just someone who's of the opinion that using people to get ahead in business is completely reprehensible!

This must be another dream. [She glanced over at Phoebe, whose very image seemed to confirm it. Someone as attractive, smart and apparently as kind as her wouldn't be able to hack it in the cutthroat world of corporate warring.]
no subject
[ She inputs a couple commands into the machine, just to keep it on track. ]
I hope this isn't a dream, I'm rather proud of this contraption.

[Phoebe's work quickly attracted Angel's attention. If nothing else made sense, then perhaps technology at least would. She leaned forward, at least as best she could, and peered at her work.]
How did you pull that off? I would have thought it impossible to manage to reverse the damage done.
no subject
[ She writes down some measurements from the panel before closing her portable screen and focusing on Angel herself. ]
What's the most impressive machine ever created?
no subject
Space travel? Or rather -- shuttles if you want a specific invention. [It was the only thing she could think of that had affected a great many people, but even then it felt wrong somehow.]
no subject
[ She will go ahead and just... tap a finger on Angel's forehead. ]
It's you, dear! Well, humanity, anyway. Adaptable, self-repairing, capable of using and creating tools and other machines... it's the thus-far unattainable goal all us robot designers strive for!
[ Look at her, she's so proud of this speech. ]
Anyway, when it came to making you better, I knew nothing I could make was going to be able to actually fix what your body had become acclimated to, at least not in time. So this big box of Eridium is designed to slowly lessen your dosage! The rest I can work on once your tolerance is a little better.
no subject
[That -- that was an unexpected touch. Hell, any amount of contact would have taken the siren by surprise, but the little prod on her forehead certainly took the cake. She recoiled instinctively, offering Phoebe a bewildered look.]
[The speech was at least... interesting, but Angel was too busy blinking at the blonde to really appreciate it.]
You just said that robot-designers haven't been able to replicate human healing. How can you hope to make things right, even once the dosage has been lowered?
no subject
I think I might have misspoken. My goal is to make your system heal itself. We do know how to augment and, though your condition is unique, I have every confidence I can get you right back on your feet in time! I just need some of that time, dear, alright? And a little trust. Not much, just a little, and I'll do my best to earn it.
no subject
[But then, strangers weren't ever the ones to hurt her, not really. There was always a chance that she might have been hired by Jack, another scientist to help poke at Angel and see what answers came out. But thus far, strangers had been the ones who had been far kinder to the woman.]
[It was a group of people whom she didn't really know that had saved her, after all.]
Okay.
no subject
[ Phoebe will just... pull up a chair. ]
Are you hungry? I can have something brought in.
no subject
If it wouldn't be too inconvenient, I would like something, yes.
[She settled back against a pillow for the time being, taking the time to study Phoebe. Her mind was still whirling, but with the bulk of information gathering out of the way, she had time now to try to make sense of it all on her own.]
I suppose I should thank you for everything.
no subject
[ She will take the time to just call up a screen to put in the order! ]
You're very welcome. I really am happy to help, even if I don't seem like I should be.
no subject
How about... whatever your favorite is.
[That was easy enough. Perhaps she was putting too much faith in a stranger, but she doubted Phoebe would lead her astray.]
